Netflixs One Piece Season 2 Casts Baroque Works Villains Mr. 9, Mr. 5, Miss Valentine

Netflix‘s live-action “One Piece” TV series has cast the first new actors for its upcoming second season, adding the comic book adaptation’s versions of four villains.
“Raised by Wolves” actor Daniel Lasker will play Mr. 9, “Batwoman’s” Camrus Johnson has been cast as Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn (“Warrior”) is set as Miss Valentine and “Late Night With the Devil” star David Dastmalchian will take on the role of Mr. 3.
These four characters are pulled directly from the pirate adventure manga “One Piece,” created by Eiichiro Oda, and its subsequent long-running anime TV series adaptation, where they are key members of the criminal syndicate Baroque Works.

“One Piece” Season 1 launched Aug. 31, 2023, on Netflix to solid streaming viewership and critical praise.
Per the description for that first batch of episodes, “Monkey D. Luffy is a young adventurer who has longed for a life of freedom since he can remember. Luffy sets off from his small village on a perilous journey to find the legendary fabled treasure, One Piece, to become King of the Pirates! But in order to find the ultimate prize, Luffy will need to assemble the crew he’s always wanted before finding a ship to sail, searching every inch of the vast seas, outpacing the Marines, and outwitting dangerous rivals at every turn.”

Additional executive producers include Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes and Steven Maeda (who served as co-showrunner alongside Owens for Season 1 but stepped down and was replaced by Tracz for Season 2).
